KEN TEMPLETON
PRESIDENT
For nearly 40 years, Ken Templeton has developed numerous residential, multi-family, industrial and commercial projects. His experience includes the development and construction of senior living communities, single-family home subdivisions, high end custom homes, condominium projects, large retail centers, commercial office buildings, casinos and one of the largest industrial parks in Southern Nevada.
Ken’s experience and reputation for developing senior living communities is unmatched. He created Carefree Senior Living which develops and operates extraordinary, independent senior housing communities that provide a vibrant atmosphere for seniors to live; where their dignity, health and happiness are key. Since 1993 Carefree has built and operated 11 communities throughout the Las Vegas and Sacramento areas, serving over 24,555 residents. The company is considered one of the largest developers of market rate senior apartment communities in the western United States. Ken has a 34-year development history of building over 3,000 units.
All Templeton development projects feature superior design and excellent quality construction.
Construction quality is one of the company’s primary focuses, as well as creating projects with unique architectural design and extensive landscape elements that beautify and enhance each neighborhood.
Aside from Ken’s development expertise, Ken had the distinction of being Chairman of the Board for three different Las Vegas business banks from 1983 to 2010. In his capacity as Chairman of the Board, he was directly responsible for the approval of more than 6.75 billion dollars of business loans.
He was one of the founders of Integrated Financial Associates, Inc. which funded more than $416 million in hard money land loans.
In 1997, Ken was licensed as the sole owner of Templeton Gaming Corporation, a slot route operator with locations in Las Vegas, Henderson and Clark County. Templeton Gaming Corporation also operated The Mystic Lodge Casino in Henderson, Nevada which was acquired in 2008 and later sold in 2015.
Ken is the President of Ken Templeton Realty & Investment, Inc., a full-service real estate and property management company which was began operations in 1982.
In 1986 Ken opened Rainbow Drug, the largest independent retail drug store in Nevada. Rainbow Drug was sold to Longs Drug in 1997.
As a majority owner, Ken opened Rainbow Medical in 1994, which was Nevada’s largest capitation pharmacy and infusion company. In 1997, Rainbow Medical was sold to a national company, Resource Pharmacy. In 2001 Ken and the former manager of Resource Pharmacy opened Spectrum Pharmacy, to create a new pharmacy and infusion company to do business in Nevada. Spectrum Pharmacy was the largest institutional pharmacy business in Nevada, prior to its sale in 2010.
An active community leader, Ken Templeton has been a distinguished member of the American Seniors Housing Association (ASHA), National Council on Senior Housing (NCOSH), Southern Nevada Homebuilders Association (SNHBA) Ken is the past Chairman of the Board of City Center Development Corp, the redevelopment subsidiary for the City of Las Vegas. Other organizations that Ken has been involved with include the Boys & Girls Club, Nevada Heart Association, National Association of Realtors, Boy Scouts and Project Sunshine. Ken was appointed by the Governor to Nevada’s Advisory Committee on Problem Gambling and served as Chairman of the Board of the Problem Gambling Center, a non-profit agency dedicated to the treatment of gaming addiction. He was also one of the founding board members of the Nevada Homeless Alliance.

Kris Templeton joined Ken Templeton Realty & Investment, Inc. (“KTRI”) in 2006 and currently serves as Executive Vice President. Areas of expertise include Entitlement, Development and land sales/aquisition, distressed assets, housing/retail/ industrial/office center investment, and office/retail leasing in Nevada and throughout the Southwest.
As a second generation real estate professional, Kris Templeton knows the industry and has built relationships not only in Las Vegas, but throughout the Southwestern United States. He and his team offer unsurpassed insight into real estate ownership, development, and management opportunities.
At the age of ten Kris worked various jobs throughout Carefree Senior Living, then working his way up through the construction company.
Kris started his own tree trimming business while in high school and continued the business throughout college. KLT Palm & Tree Maintenance catered to large retail centers, over 3000 apartments, and local homeowners. It is from this endeavor Kris learned first hand a grass roots approach to life and business.
In 2006, Kris began leasing commercial real estate for KTRI. He became their Leasing Manager in 2008, handling all of the KTRI assets for lease. In 2010 he became a Asset Manager. Kris managed a $400m portfolio of REOs and distressed assets in 10 different states across the southwest.
In 2014, Kris became VP of Asset Management for KTRI, handling all of the company and third party assets for sale and for lease. This included a $400m portfolio of REO properties and hotels, as well as a large private portfolio valued in excess of $170m of retail, office and land, and over 3,000 acres for sale in 10 states.
In addition, Kris is also part owner of and actively involved in the management of Carefree Senior Living, K and K Residential, Mustang Holdings, KLT Family LP, Outside Ventures, NSM, Carefree Holdings LP, Winterhaven Development Corp., Willows Investment Group, Carefree II Investment Group, Carefree Broadstone LP, and Carefree Eagle Bend, LLC. Eagle 40 LLC, Dapple Grey LLC, Lone Mountain Estates LLC.
He is also actively involved in the ownership of real estate, MLPs, private equity, and other investments.
